Chinese robotics company Agibot unveiled the first large-scale deployment of its embodied AI systems, rolled out at Shanghai Longcheer Technology’s tablet production plant in Nanchang, China.
According to the company, the project also marks a world first as an industrial implementation of the tech within consumer electronics manufacturing -- pushing it from experimentation to implementation.
At Longcheer’s factory, Agibot’s G2 humanoids are being used at multimedia integrated testing stations alongside human workers. Here, the systems autonomously handle tasks such as picking up devices, placing them into testing fixtures, and sorting finished or defective units.
The robots are also designed to navigate complex factory environments and carry out repetitive handling tasks with millimeter-level accuracy.
Agibot says the robots have already demonstrated improved productivity on the factory line, with throughput of up to 310 units per hour, cycle times of 19–20 seconds per task, and success rates exceeding 99.9%.

In an April 15 release, the partners said the achievement signals a step change in the deployment of embodied AI from demonstrative pilots to scalable projects.
"2026 marks the beginning of large-scale deployment for embodied intelligence," Yao Maoqing, president of the embodied business unit at Agibot, said in a statement. "This project demonstrates that embodied AI is no longer experimental. It is a practical, production-ready capability that can operate reliably under real industrial conditions and deliver measurable economic value."
Li Long, general manager of Longcheer’s robotics division, said the deployment represents the “first real-world validation” of embodied AI in consumer electronics precision manufacturing.
Agitbot plans to scale deployment to 100 robots by Q3 2026, and expand into sectors including automotive, semiconductors, and energy -- industries in which flexible, high-precision automation is increasingly in demand.
